Dinner at Casa Flores is more than a meal--it’s a love affair with the rich flavors and textures of contemporary Italian cuisine. Chef Vanessa seeks out the freshest ingredients and innovates constantly to ensure guests fall in love with each bite.
Each curated course is served around a communal table, creating a dinner party ambience that is at once friendly and sophisticated.
After a few years of living the corporate life, I decided to follow my culinary dream. I moved from Texas to NYC, where I graduated from the French Culinary Institute. I was enrolled in the Italian Studies program, through which I spent six months studying and working all over Italy. Upon graduating the program, I earned a position at the Michelin-starred restaurant, Lincoln Ristorante in NYC. In attempt to escape the bitter cold, I made the move to San Francisco in 2014, and found myself back in the kitchen at Perbacco Restaurant in the financial district.
Recently, I've given up the restaurant scene in exchange for a better schedule and the opportunity to do more of what I love. I'm self-employed and loving getting to host dinners, meet amazing people and let my creativity fly. With Texas roots, a Dominican and Persian heritage, and a formal training in Italian cuisine, I make it all. After six months in some of the top Italian kitchens, however, my expertise lies in the art of pasta.
